Announcer: Welcome to
the Bible Law Course Program. This is a series of broadcasts about The Ten
Commandants, not as a means to salvation, but as a code of conduct for
Christians. In these programs we will show that all our nations problems can be
solved with the application of God given laws.
SPEAKER: Hello. In the Christian Bible, in the book of Psalms and in the Book of Exodus
it
says, "I am the God who heals all your diseases."
Here in America we have several hundred thousand Christian Churches, millions
of us are Christians and with few exceptions, we all have health problems. We
spend over eight hundred and fifty billion dollars a year on health care. (1992)
And
now aids threatens to become a middle ages type plague.(1992) How do we solve these
problems?
Let's learn from the past. In the early 1800's it was not unusual, in a hospital maternity ward to have a high mortality rate. One outstanding
well thought of teaching hospital in Vienna had one out of six women die.
While normal for those times, today it would be a frightening mortality rate.
When one of these poor women died she was taken to the hospital's morgue. Then early the next morning, it was the custom for doctors and students to walk
over to the morgue, and examine yesterday's dead.
Then without washing their hands, the students and doctors went directly to
the maternity ward. They went to the maternity ward to examine the women about
to give birth. And of course there were no rubber gloves at that time.
In 1840, Doctor Ignaz Semmeiweis had charge of one of these maternity wards. He noticed, that for the most part, it was the women who were examined by the
students and doctors, that became sick and died. Dr. Semmeiweis correctly
concluded, that there was some connection between the examination, and the
sickness. And after giving it some thought, he ordered the other doctors and students
to wash their hands between patients and wash their hands after examining the
dead. And what happened? The very next month the death rate went way down. The death rate went from one in six, to one in
forty two.
So, Dr. Seminwise made it a law. A law that all the other doctors and all the
other students were to wash their hands between patients. Now was Dr. Semmeiweis
honored by his discovery? What did his associates think?
Well, they were insulted. There was nothing wrong with their hands. Dr. Seminwise was ridiculed, scorned and belittled. Some of the other doctors
refused to speak to him. And his employment contract was not renewed. His replacement threw out the wash basins and the old death rate returned.
This happened less than two hundred years ago in Christian Europe!
The doctors who scoffed at Dr. Semmeiweis discovery, they were Christians! They had the Bible! The hand washing law had been there, all along.
But they didn't pay any more attention to God's Law then than do modern day
Christians.
Four thousand years earlier, God had Moses give us a law having to do with the washing
of hands after handling the dead, and washing our hands after touching the
infected living.
God does not waste his time telling us things that we can figure out for
ourselves. Thousands of years after Moses day, doctors still did not know about
bacteria, but God did. God didn't have Moses say, wash your hands, then explain by talking about
bacteria. They would have laughed Moses to scorn just as they did Dr. Seminwise.
God just said, do it because I say so. And not understanding the reasons, most
thought that hand washing was just a pious ritual. My friends, God is the healer
of all our diseases. But this healing does not take place until after, after we
start to live by his laws.
But you can't live by his laws unless you know that he has a law, Even after going to church for years, the average person, has no knowledge
about God's Law, or even that he has laws. Laws on business, laws on crime and
punishment. Laws on real estate and inheritance. Yes, even laws on health. How many
of these God given health laws do you
know? How many of these God given health laws does your doctor
know?
Yes, today the doctor does know about hand washing. But what
about God's other health laws? And how many of God's health laws, has your
pastor told you about? We'll back with more after this message.

SPEAKER: Welcome back, This is the Bible Law Course Program. We are talking
about health laws and your Bible. Here is Psalms 103:3 listen,
ANNOUNCER: 2. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget
not all his benefits:
3. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
SPEAKER: In Psalms, God says that he heals all of our diseases. Now here is
Exodus 15:26;
ANNOUNCER: If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God,
and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his
commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon
thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth
thee".
SPEAKER: God says, do what is right in his eyes, obey his laws and he will
protect you from disease. How does he do that? He heals us by giving us laws to
live by. He gives us laws that will protect us from disease. If we do not obey his health laws, then we have no protection.
In Europe, for hundreds of years, the dreaded disease of leprosy had killed
countless of millions of people. The extent of the terrible plague is given by
Dr. George Rosen, Columbia University professor of public health in his book,
which is available at many public libraries and is titled simply, A
History of Public Health.
Dr. Rosen reports, that the physicians of that day could not stop the ever
increasing ravages of leprosy or the ravages of The Black Death which followed. Because the physicians could not save Europe from these plagues,
the Church took charge, and the church used as its guiding principles, the health laws found, in
The Old Testament of your Bible.
The solution to the problem was defined with great clarity by Moses. The church followed the precepts laid down in the Bible, as it undertook the
task of combating these horrible plagues. God's law saved Europe from the
plagues, but only after Christians saw the wisdom, of doing it God's way.
God's way is the application and enforcement of His law by government. As soon as the European leaders saw the application of Bible Law brought
Leprosy under control. They applied the same legislation against the black
death. The results were equally spectacular. Millions of lives were saved.
Where did the church find instruction in the Bible? Well, listen to these
words from Leviticus 13. These verses are about contagions disease. Leprosy is
one contagious diseases.
ANNOUNCER: Leviticus 13:45-59: (45) And the leper
in whom the plague is, --- he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall
cry, Unclean, unclean.
(46) All the days wherein the plague shall be in
him he --- shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be. ... This
is the law of the plague of leprosy,...
SPEAKER: How about that? God requires three things.
First, the infected person is to cover his mouth, God knew about bacteria
when he told us about hand washing. Do you think that God also knew about the
need to cover your mouth to prevent the spread of disease? We cover our
mouth when we sneeze. Doctors wear a mask when operating.
And second, God required that we warn others.
And third, when sick we are to stay away from others.
Listen again:
ANNOUNCER: (45) And the leper in whom the plague is, --- he shall put a
covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.
(46) All the days
wherein the plague shall be in him he --- shall dwell alone; without the camp
shall his habitation be. This is the law of the plague of leprosy.
SPEAKER: Cover your mouth, warn others, live alone. Living alone is
called, quarantine. Do you think that these two verse of your Bible, might be
the instruction that we need to deal with aids?
In middle ages Europe, if Bible Law had not been applied, and if the plague
were allowed to continue, many great leaders of the Renaissance might never have
been born, or they might have died an early death.
Thus European history was greatly influenced for good. Influenced for good,
simply because men finally began to practice God's laws. The laws God gave to
his people so long ago.
The Bible's health laws against infectious disease, such as leprosy in
the book of
Leviticus. They have been regarded as the first model of sanitary legislation. So says Dr. Arturo Castiglione in his book, A
History of Medicine.
Today legislators are concerned, not about bubonic plague and the black
death, but about aids. They are writing new legislation to deal with the aids threat. Unfortunately,
they appear not to have studied their Bibles, or possibly, they reject what they
might know about Biblical legislation on contagions disease.
I say this because, much of what is coming out of our legislatures is the
exact opposite, the exact opposite of God's law. In fact they are legislating
the violation of God's Law. They do not legislate, cover your mouth, and warn
others, and quarantine.
They do not legislate quarantine. Rather they tell you, that you
must associate with aids infected people. That you must send your children to
school with aids infected children.
They do not legislate a warning to others. Rather, they
legislate that infected people have a right to keep their disease a secret from
others. My friends that is just the exact opposite of God's clear instruction.
What are these law makers doing, are they looking into the Bible, just so
they see what God wants done, them defying God by requiring that we do the exact
opposite? I am sure that by this time someone is saying, well how about separation of
church and state?
The Bible is about government and the Bible is about legislation. Most of
your Bible was written to or by men in government.
Let's think about government, the nature of legislation, and three important
words, these words are, laws, statutes and judgments. Here is a verse using these
three words. Here is Deuteronomy 7:11. Listen.
ANNOUNCER: Deuteronomy 7:11 Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and
the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them. (KJV)
SPEAKER: Another verse is Deuteronomy 8:11.
ANNOUNCER: Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy
God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which
I command thee this day:
SPEAKER: All through the Bible we hear these three words, laws, statutes and
judgments. What is a law? What is a statute? And what is a judgment? One of the
commandments is, thou shalt not kill. And to protect the public from harm, even death
from traffic accidents, the legislature might write a law saying, Thou Shalt not
speed. Laws are based upon commandments.
Thou shalt not speed is a law based upon the commandment, Thou shalt not
kill. Just as soon as the legislature says, Thou shalt not speed upon city streets,
The question now becomes, What is speeding?
The sixteen year know it all does not have the same ideas about driving, as
the fifty five year old retired businessman who lost his wife in a car accident. So, the
legislature defines speeding by writing a statute. Thou shalt not exceed twenty
miles per hour in a school zone. That would be a statute under this no speeding
law. The statutes of the law make known, and to make plain, what act is
forbidden. Otherwise, everyone would be free to decide for himself what speeding
is. You see, you just can not write a law saying, Thou shalt not speed, and then
let everyone decide for himself what speeding is. Now what about the law breaker?
Provision is made for the lawless by a written judgment. The legislature
might write a judgment saying, anyone exceeding the twenty mile per hour speed limit in a
school zone shall be fined $5.00 for each mile over the speed limit.
The judgment is the punishment to be imposed upon the lawbreaker.
Your representatives in the legislature write law that way. They write laws
with three parts, First, the basic law. Second, the statutes define the law's
requirements, and third the judgments or penalties for breaking the law.
And God is just as smart as your legislators. The gave us basic laws. Then he
defined them by way of statutes. Finally God gave us judgments to deal with the
l lawless
members of society.
The law is the rule to be obeyed. The statute is the explanation of the law. The judgment is the penalty for
breaking the law. It's as simple as that.
We'll be back after these messages.
ANNOUNCER: Shrinking pay checks, loss of health insurance, high taxes, more taxes,
disappearing pensions; why does the most productive, most advanced nation that
ever existed find itself with a national debt that seems unpayable? The people
in Nehemiah five of your Bible had similar problems. The solutions that worked
then will work now. Call now, toll free- 1 800 (deleted). And we will send

SPEAKER: Welcome back, you are listening to the Bible Law Course Program.
We are talking about the health laws in your Bible. In the Christian Bible, in the
Book of Psalms and in the Book of Exodus,
it says I am the God, who heals all your diseases.
Here in America we have several hundred thousand Christian Churches, millions of us are Christians, and with few exceptions, we all have health
problems. Our friends and loved ones die of heart attack and cancer. In the the 1992
State of the Union address, our president said, we were spending over eight
hundred billion dollars a year on health care. Enough money to buy twenty
million luxury cars!
My friends, something is terribly wrong; Let's get to the bottom of this; In
the first part of this program we talked about how God's laws on hand washing. And
how obedience to this simple command prevented deaths in the hospitals of the
eighteen hundreds. How God' laws on sanitation and quarantine saved middle ages Europe
from Leprosy and the Bubonic plague.
Now lets talk about food. Does God offer any dietary laws? And if he does,
are they just pious rituals? Or do they have to do, not with salvation, but with
our health? Listen to these words from Exodus 15:
ANNOUNCER: If thou wilt diligently hearken to the
voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and
wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of
these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the
Lord that healeth thee.
SPEAKER: In this verse, God makes a connection between keeping his laws, and
good health. Recent Radio and TV news programs have talked about the benefits of a low
fat diet. Listen to these words from Leviticus chapter 7
ANNOUNCER: Leviticus 7:22-24: (22) And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
(23) Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Ye shall eat no manner of fat,
of ox, or of sheep, or of goat.
(24) And the fat of the beast that dieth of
itself, and the fat of that which is torn with beasts, may be used in any other
use: but ye shall in no wise eat of it.
SPEAKER: Yes, God says we can use fat to make soap. He says fat can be put to use but we are not to eat it.
Now listen to Leviticus 3:17
ANNOUNCER: It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout
all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.
SPEAKER: A perpetual statute, for all your generations. That is forever. Was
this was a ritual? A pious ritual to be done away on the cross? No! It was a health law. A law
to be observed, forever. Way back then God commanded; "Thou shalt not eat fat nor blood." Today, after
four thousand years, concerning fat, we have finally discovered God knew what he was
talking about, all along.
Just think of how many people would have lived happier lives; or might still be alive today; if their ancestors had told their children;
and their grand children of this law; if they had simply trusted God to know
what he was talking about, when he said, "You shall not eat fat nor blood." The prophet Jeremiah was ordered to by God to deliver a message. The message
is in Jeremiah 16 .
ANNOUNCER: Jeremiah 16:10-12 : (10) And it shall come to pass, when thou
shalt hew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore
hath the Lord pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our
iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the Lord our God?
SPEAKER: What evil has the Lord pronounced against us, and what is our sin? The evil is, we all have health problems. The evil is, we have a
national health bill of eight hundred billion dollars and rising. (1992) And what is our sin? What evil have
we done to deserve this? Here is the answer. It's in the very next verse.
ANNOUNCER: (11) Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have
forsaken me, saith the Lord, ... , and have not kept my law;
(12) And ye have done worse than your fathers;
for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that
they may not hearken unto me:
SPEAKER: God's complaint was; our fathers have forsaken him. We have not kept
his law. We do as we please? We decide for ourselves what is right and wrong? We refuse God's instruction, We decide for ourselves what is good to eat,
and what is not good to eat.
Who does God blame for this present day situation? God blamed our fathers. Our fathers,
that is a term that includes parents, public office holders,
even your childhood school teachers. And so, today you don't know God's Law.
You don't know God's Law because your parents, your government schools, your
licensed clergy, and your incorporated churches did not teach you. Go to your church library. Go to your shopping center religious book store.
You will not find one book. Not one book on God's law.
Most of the students in the seminaries have read the Old
Testament, but even in the seminaries, God's laws are not taught as a laws to
live by. Here is a comment from a letter that we received from a Pastor;
Gentlemen,
I felt that you made some excellent points in your Bible Law Course about
clergymen, I am an ordained minister with two seminary degrees. I am a Lt.
General in the national chaplains association.
Nowhere, Nowhere in my training was God's Law ever stressed. I feel that I
will be a better Christian and minister because of your course.
How about that for a letter? Just think of how many people would have lived happier lives; or might still
be alive today; if the seminaries had taught the young ministers about God's
Law, including God's laws on health.
Some Clergy tell you, that these were just pious rituals. Something to be
done away with at the cross. But if that is the case, why do we spend so much
money on doctors? Why is our national health bill eight hundred Billion and rising?
My friends, Jesus did not die on the cross so that you could have a high fat
diet and not have health problems. In the Old Testament, after explaining the food laws,
Moses said this. This is from Leviticus 11;
ANNOUNCER: Leviticus 11:46-47, This is the law of the beasts, and of the
foul, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every
creature that creepeth upon the earth: To make a difference . . . between the
unclean and the clean and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.
SPEAKER: Why did God give these laws? He gave them so you could tell
the difference between good food and bad food. Without God's law, you can't tell the difference. Without trust in God, you
will almost always eat the wrong thing.
You need to know the law of the beasts, so you can tell the difference
between the beast that can be eaten and the beast that can not be eaten. Well, That's all I have time for today.
In our Bible Law course, we have an entire lesson on foods and the Bible.
We answer all the objections that people raise, such as Peter's vision
in Acts 10, and the lack of refrigerators in Moses day. Check it out for
